Funding call for CO2 capture and utilization in the primary industry

Around one fifth of greenhouse gas emissions in Germany originate from industry, 30 percent of which are process-related. It is these process emissions, which are unavoidable given the current state of technology, that pose a particularly great challenge for the decarbonization of industry - especially the energy-intensive basic materials industry. Innovative processes and technologies for capturing, utilizing and storing CO2 are now being used to set the course for a climate-neutral industry.

The call for funding within the German Ministry for Economy and Energy's (BMWi) 7th Energy Research Program is aimed in particular at the basic materials industry. Universities and non-university research institutions as well as local authorities, public administrations, associations and foundations are also eligible to apply until March 15, 2021.
